The Kentucky Derby themed fund-raising campaign, CCHC Derby, challenges our supporters and volunteers to creatively raise funds through events and activities planned by the team members. This campaign raises vital operating funds to support the services provided by the Homeless Coalition. Our goal is to raise a combined total of $80,000. The race begins at the Starting Gate party on January 24, 2012 and runs to the finish, a Derby Day Party and victory celebration on May 5, 2012, at the Isles Yacht Club with live viewing of the Kentucky Derby. Prizes are awarded to the top “horses” (teams) that finish with a Win, Place or Show. The Homeless Coalition is still seeking teams willing to participate in the 2012 Derby. GiddieUp Girlz has a STABLE ! We’ve chosen a home for our “pony” and will be working with the folks at Broad Street Bar (outside bar at Treasure Lanes – 1059 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte) in scheduling some additional fun-filled events. The first one will be a Daytona 500 Amazing Race Tailgate Party on Sunday Feb 26th. Specials and games specifically tailored with a Nascar theme. Don’t miss out on the fun. Saturday April 7th from 10:00am to 6:00pm at 9 Participating Port Charlotte Locations (to follow). A mini-golf event where teams of 4 register and play a par three golf hole at each of the 9 locations. Prizes are awarded for lowest and highest, team and individual scores.
