Services: Homeless Prevention
The primary focus of CCHC’s Homeless Prevention Program is to help families stay in their homes . Each month hundreds of families come to us in need of resources to stop eviction and/or utility disconnection.
The Coalition can provide to qualifying people rent, security deposit, and utilities assistance to prevent homelessness.
We have an impressive track record of care:

FY08-09 - Federal funding from HUD (Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) to Charlotte County through the Homeless Coalition over the next three years
- Rents, security deposits, and utility assistance for those at risk of becoming homeless (one-time payments and multi-month commitments)
- Quickly moving newly homeless clients from Emergency Shelter back into Permanent Housing through intensive case management services
The Federal Homeless Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) Program has awarded funding from the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) to our community through the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition over the next three years.
These funds will be used to provide rent, security deposit, and utility assistance for those who are at risk of becoming homeless (one-time payments and multi-month commitments.)
In addition, CCHC offers Case Management Services to connect clients with other agencies that can help to relieve their burden. This includes Veteran’s Services, Child Care Assistance, Substance Abuse Counseling, Financial Counseling, Medical or Prescription Assistance, as well as others.
