9th Annual Tennis with a Heart Tournament

Rev up your rackets for the 9th Annual Tennis with a Heart Tournament in February. The Friday Evening Kick-Off Party and registration will begin at 5:30pm on February 10th at the Punta Gorda Club located at 2905 Tamiami Trail in Punta Gorda. There will be food, beverages, music and exhibition matches that evening. The major sponsors of this year’s tournament are Charlotte State Bank & Trust, The Club in Punta Gorda, and Young Diversified Industries.

Tennis matches will begin Saturday, February 11th and 12th for mixed doubles and the following weekend February 18th and 19th for regular doubles. The deadline for player registration is February 1, 2012. Players may enter doubles competition in men’s, women’s and/ or mixed categories based upon the total rating of both players. The registration fee is $45.00 per person for one event or $60.00 for two events. All proceeds from this event benefit the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition.

We would love to let our community know that their participation supports those who are less fortunate and need our multitude of services. The need is greater this year in our community and we continue to need your support. Last year’s tournament’s proceeds supported services for over 1,200 clients. Our goal is, as always, to continue our mission to prevent homelessness and hunger in Charlotte County as well as have lots of fun!!

Homeless Coalition Annual Derby Campaign Kick-Off

On January 24th, the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition will have a kick-off party for their 2nd Annual Derby - fundraising campaign. The event will be held at Kingsway Country Club, Port Charlotte, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.

The Kentucky Derby themed campaign challenges our supporters and volunteers to creatively raise funds through events and activities planned by the team members. This campaign raises vital operating funds to support the services provided by the Homeless Coalition.

The Coalition’s goal is to have 17 Teams cross the finish line in 2012 raising a combined total of $80,000. Prizes are awarded to teams that either Win, Place or Show at the victory celebration on May 5, 2012 “Derby Day” at the Isles Yacht Club with live viewing of the Kentucky Derby.

The Homeless Coalition is still seeking teams willing to participate in the 2012 Derby. 4th Annual Mistletoe Ball

Thank you to everyone who attended our "Rockefeller Christmas" Mistletoe Ball this year.

This well attended annual fundraiser will benefit the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition this year, by providing hot meals seven days a week, food pantry and safehouse shelter to our community. The event included dinner, dancing to live entertainment, "Rockettes," and much more!

"Give Hunger the Blues"

Florida Blues Brothers Show - helping to support the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition, a packed house attended the Florida Blues Brothers Concert on Sept. 10 in the Theater at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County.

'Driving Out Hunger' Golf Scramble

Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

On Saturday, April 16, 2011, The New Day Christian Church presented a dinner fundraiser in their church (20212 Peachland Blvd. Port Charlotte, FL) at 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It was so much FUN!

8th Annual Tennis with a Heart Tournament

Ran 2 weekends in February, the 11th, 12th & 13th, for Mixed Doubles. Feb. 19th & 20th played the Men & Women's Doubles. Extended Happy Hour FUNdraiser

'Jacks' presented an Extended Happy Hour FUNdraiser in Downtown Punta Gorda on October 6th, including Guest Bartenders, 50/50 Raffle, a special "Homeless Drink" - Proceeds went to the Coalition.
It was so much FUN!
